Year 7 visit the ‘Undisclosed: Modern Slavery’ Exhibition at Norwich Cathedral
Our Year 7 pupils explored the themes of justice, slavery & freedom at ‘Undisclosed: Modern Slavery”, an art exhibition at Norwich Cathedral that incorporated a creative, hands-on workshop at the end of their guided tour. The exhibits all sought to highlight the power of Art to stimulate emotions, challenge misconceptions and arouse curiosity and questioning, and were inspired by some stark and hard hitting statistics: ’40 million people are estimated to be trapped in modern slavery worldwide. 1 in 4 of them are children. Almost three quarters are women and girls. Modern slavery is all around us, but often just out of sight’.
The visit drew on links to specific Year 7 art topics as well as their subject work in History & TPR.
