Year 6 visit to The Anglican Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham
Our Year 6 children visited Walsingham last week to learn about the different Christian denominations and their methods and places of worship. The children were very interested to be guided around the The Anglican Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, observing firsthand some of the practices learnt in their Religious Studies lessons. Following in the footsteps of the 300,000 pilgrims who visit the shrine each year, the children also took part in a fascinating sprinkling ceremony, a healing ritual synonymous with the Shrine’s Holy Well.
