Year 5 visit to The Centre for Computing History
Our Year 5 children enjoyed a fascinating day out at The Centre for Computing History, a charitable, heritage organisation with a strong focus on learning. In groups, they explored the four museum zones: The Main Gallery, The Games Zone, The Megaprocessor Zone and the Classroom Zone, with each area offering the children a comprehensive overview of the past, present and future of computing through their involvement in hands-on exhibits, comprehensive displays and educational workshops. The trip was closely aligned to the Year 5 curriculum objectives of learning to code and the application of computational thinking to real world problems, and the museum, complemented by their team of extremely knowledgeable guides, was a wonderful location in which to explore these topics.
