Year 4 visit West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village
As part of their History topic work on the Anglo-Saxons, our Year 4 pupils visited West Stow Country Park where they explored the recreated Anglo-Saxon Village and enjoyed a range of interactive activities in the museum. Thank you very much to the guides who hosted us for an informative tour around the village visiting the craft building, the farmers house, the hall building, the living house, the oldest house, the sunken house, the weaving house and the workshop. Exploring the museum, our pupils learnt a lot about the Anglo-Saxon people who lived on the settlement through a variety of displays that told the story of how they lived and worked using the jewellery they wore, the tools and weapons they used and the items they were buried with. They also thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to dress up!
