Year 1 Castle Day
The Year is 1341 and Norwich is in uproar! A great tournament has been announced to be held on the meadow in front of Norwich Castle. The King and Queen are coming with their entire court and there is building work to be done in preparation for the tournament. While the work is going on, several of the Castle’s occupants have moved into buildings and tents surrounding the Castle…
So what happened next? Only our Year 1 children can tell you!
Our own Town Close knights, kings, queens, dragons, cooks and princesses in Year 1 were thrilled to welcome some of the Norwich Castle dwellers into School last week and they were very excited to hear more about the Royal Tournament and to help make the necessary preparations. After the work was complete and the scene set, they feasted on their own homemade pottage and thoroughly enjoyed an afternoon of medieval dancing and entertainment. It was a Castle Day to remember!
