Visiting poet – Lewis Buxton
Lewis Buxton – poet, producer and workshop leader –delivered an intense but seriously fun, entertaining and rewarding writing workout to Year 7 & 8 to kick start the term. He blew away any summer holiday cobwebs, drawing out some imaginative responses and new ways of describing themselves and their home, and plunged Y8 into the mind of cupboards and bread knives.
At one point, Daniel (Y7) asked Lewis, ‘Are you a magician?’ as a 5 minute exercise changed the abstract to concrete with the assistance of a visiting baby and … Lewis’ hair.
Next we look forward to An Evening of Poetry and Music on Thursday October 4th when some of the poems written in this workshop will be showcased.
