Town Close named the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital’s School Charity Champion 2022
Every year our School council votes on our school charity for the year. After the Covid pandemic, the NHS was at the front of all of our minds and we decided to specifically help the Jenny Lind children’s hospital because of the huge difference it has made and continues to make to local children. Our pupils wanted to show the hospital and their staff how grateful we are for their help and we wanted to let the patients know that they were not alone and that we were thinking of them. Throughout the year, we ran a number of events to raise money including From The Heart Day, the Reindeer Christmas Trail and our Summer Fete, amongst others.
We raised a total of £9143.23
On receiving the reward, Mr Wilson commented:
We are extremely proud and grateful to have been awarded the Charity Champion Award. The children were inspired by the work of The Jenny Lind Children’s hospital and we were all delighted to have been able to make a contribution to the fundraising effort.
Our huge thanks go out to all of our community who supported our fundraising.
We were delighted to welcome a film crew into School to record our reaction to receiving the award:
