Town Close Careers Fair - Town Close School

The Keynote speech was delivered by Simon and Liz from Aviva. Speaking about their roles as Sustainability Leads within Aviva, they reflected on the many ways Aviva embeds sustainability into their business strategy and day to day operations, and how the job market has evolved as a result of society’s drive to be more sustainable, creating a wealth of new jobs and career paths linked to the environment. Thank you very much to Simon and Liz for giving them time and expertise.

This year, our Careers Fair Workshop was led by Sarah from Lotus Cars. Sarah comprehensively caught the attention of our Year 7 and 8 pupils with her impressive prop for the day – the new Lotus Emira! After giving the children the opportunity to view and sit inside the Emira, Sarah challenged our pupils to devise their own accessory for the car and present it to the room before she, assisted by Simon from Aviva, chose the winning group. Our pupils were thoroughly engaged and enthused throughout. They were, also, very interested to hear about Sarah’s own inspirational personal journey to her current career with Lotus which demonstrated that careers are not fixed and that the children should always follow their interests and passions.
