Rainbow Day
Rainbow Day at Town Close School
Town Close pupils and staff celebrated Rainbow Day on Friday, raising essential funds for the School charity, Break. In lieu of the annual PTA Fireworks party, the children were encouraged to come to School in bright colours and give a donation to Break, a local children’s charity that supports vulnerable children and young adults. There were some fantastic outfits, the most striking on Deputy Head, Mr Woods, who arrived into School in a full rainbow suit!
Pre Prep children enjoyed a range of rainbow-themed activities including rainbow wand making, rainbow sand jars, rainbow maths and biscuit decorating (and eating!). They also enjoyed some magnificent fruit platters that were delivered to each of the classrooms for their snack; the platters, made up by the School’s catering team, included the familiar fruits as well as a more exotic selection that the children were encouraged to try.
The undisputed highlight of the day, though, was a delicious ‘Bonfire Night’ themed lunch with hot dogs, marshmallow skewers, fresh fruit and rainbow cupcakes! A huge thank you to our catering team for all of the rainbow-inspired snacks and lunch. A total of £529.08 was raised for Break.
