Ice Sculptor visits Pre Prep

The cold spell of weather proved to be the ideal conditions for a very special visitor in Pre Prep as we welcomed ice sculptor John Bolton from Ice Agency into School. Serving as an interactive and exciting introduction to their topic on ‘water’, the children from Nursery to Year 2 were completely engrossed as they watched John carve an intricate fish sculpture before they enjoyed some ice free play at stations positioned around the outdoor classroom.  Aided by John, pupils in Year 2 were, also, given the opportunity to get hands on, carving some of the ice for themselves using a chisel. It proved to be an incredible morning of learning that had the children gasping with amazement and smiling with enjoyment in equal measure!
