In light of the UK’s national period of mourning, please note the following:
School closure on Monday 19th September (Nursery – Yr 8 inclusive)
As I am sure you will all be aware, Monday 19th September has been declared a bank holiday, to enable the country to watch the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
As a result, the school site will be closed for the whole of Monday.
Book of condolence
The school will be placing a book of condolence in the Green Room, for all members of the community to write a condolence should they wish.
The Book will be available to parents in the morning until 9am and in the afternoon from 3pm. We will keep the book open for a week, until the end of the day on Tuesday 20th September.
The children in the Prep department will get the opportunity to add their own message, something that the English department will be leading on. The teachers in Pre Prep will be thinking about how best we can capture the thoughts of the Pre Prep children within the book as well.
Postponement of 90th birthday celebrations
This Friday the 16th September, we were due to celebrate the 90th birthday of the school. We will be postponing this event until later in the year and will inform you of the new date in due course.
Postponement of Tea and Cake event Monday 19th September
We have also postponed the Tea and Cake event scheduled for the 19th September and will update you about the new date as soon as we can.
School social media posts
As a mark of respect, we will not be posting anything on social media until after HM Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral on Monday.
