Cricket Success

Congratulations to our Colts A team after winning the keenly contested Framlingham College 8-a-side cricket tournament.  Our opening match was against Barnardiston Hall and, despite a rather rusty display in the field, the boys managed to win by 6 wickets, helped by some accurate bowling and 25 runs from James C.  Our semi-final game was against local rivals Taverham Hall.  TCH made 83-2 from the allotted 8 overs, with excellent contributions from Jack B and James C.  Sharp fielding and tight bowling kept the Taverham total down to 74 for 1 taking Town Close through to face a strong looking Holmwood House side from Essex.  Holmwood batted first and scored 64-2 from their overs.  Town Close replied with Freddie R finding some important boundaries to get our score within range of the target.  One ball to go and four runs needed!  Gabriel arrived at the crease and duly put bat to ball to hit a boundary ‘4’ and Town Close were winners of what had been an excellent day’s cricket and a fantastic effort from the whole squad.
