County Championships – Runners Up
The U11 Boys’ hockey team had another excellent showing at the County Championships for the third year in a row. They were squeezed out of first place, but were still clear runners up, allowing them to qualify for the East of England Championships in May. What was even more impressive was that they achieved this by having four junior players in their squad of eight, so things bode well for next year too!
Over the course of their four matches, the U11’s beat Norwich School and Greshams 2-1, with goals coming from Blade, Charlie and Monty. Unfortunately, we managed to lose 1-0 against Beeston, very much against the run of play and hitting a post too! As a result, the team needed to beat Langley Prep in the final game of the afternoon and despite their best efforts, had to settle for a 0-0 draw and runners up overall. Both the coaching staff and the pupils would like to thank all the parents, who were able to come along and support the team so enthusiastically. Your presence as ever made a big difference.
