Big School Swim
Year Two took part in the ‘Big School Swim’ yesterday. This is an event that has been run annually for a number of years across the country and one that Town Close School has not been involved with before. Due to the children’s enthusiasm for swimming and our support for Norfolk’s Special Olympics (our chosen charity for this year) we felt that this year was the perfect opportunity to be involved.
Every child in Year Two competed in a number of events and it was a great way to showcase all their abilities. Representatives from our charity came to encourage the children as well as parents and grandparents. We also had Olivier Vedrenne, one of our Year Eight swimmers and the No.1 ranked twelve year old in Britain for 100metres breaststroke, come in to demonstrate and encourage the younger pupils.
It was a wonderful afternoon and the children thrived in such a positive and supportive environment. A true celebration of swimming!
