Author and Illustrator James Mayhew visits Town Close School

We were delighted to welcome renowned author and illustrator James Mayhew into School to celebrate World Book Day.  James held sessions with each of the year groups in Pre Prep, speaking about his experiences and inspirations as a writer, as well as treating each group to his superb ‘upside-down illustrated storytelling’! For our Reception children, it was the story of George and the Dragon. Throughout the tale, James drew and then painted an amazing picture that depicted the characters and the setting whilst still holding the attention of all 50 of the children! They were entranced by James and his stories and it was a truly wonderful way to celebrate World Book Day in School.
