A wondercrump, gloriumptious, splendiferous, phiz-whizzing Roald Dahl Day!
The School marked Roald Dahl Story Day with a range of interactive and fun activities for the pupils to celebrate Dahls’s storytelling genius. A Woodland Trail hunt, featuring props from Dahl’s stories, led our Pre Prep and Years 3 & 4 children around the Woodland Walk as they discovered the objects hidden amongst the trees, identified them and then worked together to decipher which story they came from. Mr Twit style beard making in Years 3 & 4 inspired the children to write accompanying captions that challenged them to incorporate alliteration, adjectives, similes and metaphors within their writing and even invent a few of their own ‘Dahlesque’ words to describe the decaying food within the beards. Years 5 & 6 created their very own collage of Mr Twit; Pre Prep fashioned their own BFG dream jars; the whole School enjoyed a Roald Dahl quiz; and cries of ‘I’ve found a golden ticket!’ echoed around School as the children enjoyed a Golden Ticket Hunt around the grounds!
