A Superb Performance from our Year 8 F24 team at the Greenpower International Finals
Our Year 8 F24 team were greeted by glorious sunshine as they arrived at the Greenpower F24 International Finals for electric car racing at the historic Goodwood circuit last weekend. They all performed superbly in a field of older pupils, holding their own against Year 9, 10 and 11 children with far greater experience. Sidney, Tessa, Polly, Grace and Leo drove with skill and composure, finishing 5th out of 49 kit cars and smashing our previous record of 37.78 by driving over 39.17 miles in the ninety-minute Final race. Beth, Alessia, Rosa, Thomas and Kal managed the team efficiently whilst showing great leadership, enabling swift pit stops and keeping communication flowing. Overall, a fantastic all-round team performance that was testament to each child’s positivity, diligence and energy.
The Finals were the most international yet, featuring teams from Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Estonia and Brazil – as well as all points of the UK. It was a wonderful event to be a part of with plenty of memories to treasure. Our sincere thanks to Mr and Mrs Buck and to Mr and Mrs Anthony for supporting and chaperoning the children throughout.
