A myth-busting night with ‘Norfolk Menopause’
A myth-busting night with ‘Norfolk Menopause’
We were delighted to host a panel of experts from Norfolk Menopause for a myth-busting menopause talk in our Read Hall auditorium. Welcoming over 80 attendees from the School body and local community, the evening proved a great success, imparting valuable information and advice to all of the guests and creating a sense of confidence, empowerment and camaraderie throughout the group.
Menopause affects women in different ways and with different levels of severity. The 2022 Fawcett report presented a number of startling statistics that focus the mind on the impact this stage can have on women with 45% of women declaring that their ability to work had been impacted by the menopause, 30% needed time off and 10% resigned as a result of their symptoms. Events such as these help to educate women on potential symptoms and the ways in which women can help mitigate the effects through diet, exercise, mindset and, in many cases, hormone replacement therapy, ensuring that women do not merely have to ‘survive’ this period in their lives but ‘thrive’ throughout it.
Our sincere thanks to the Norfolk Menopause team of Dr Emily Cary, Dr Hannah Healy, Dr Susanne Ahlund, Charlotte Evans, Katie Loveday and Polly Mann for their presentations and break out discussions.
