We are very fortunate our School is located on the doorstep of the fine city of Norwich. Known as the City of Stories, by Visit Norwich, it is a small but perfectly formed city full of many wonderful attractions ready for you to create your own family stories and memories in. The city centre is famed for its historical market place, castle and cathedrals. You will be spoilt for choice for a spot of retail therapy, with two large shopping malls, Chantry Place and Castle Quarters, alongside many interesting independent shops nestled in the Norwich Lanes. The city has many restaurants and cafes to suit every taste, from fine dining to fun family themed diners. Most importantly, children get never be bored… bowling, trampolining, soft play, museums, parks, boat trips on the river, large active library, theatre, music groups and much more all within the city walls.
Not only is Norwich City itself a ‘playground’ for families, it is situated within Norfolk, a county full of space to explore. Countryside, farmland, parks, woodland and beaches, an adventure is waiting around every corner. Never more, than during the pandemic, have our parents appreciated the scale, freedom and activities at our finger tips in Norfolk or, our neighbouring county, Suffolk.
Top tips from our parents:
“A family favourite during the summer holiday is a trip to Holme-next-the-sea. We often order a take away picnic from Thornham deli and collect it on the way to the beach. We tend to head to Holme as the beach is often quieter than Brancaster, most probably because the car park is smaller and it is a further walk from the car onto the beach itself, however, the beach is vast and worth the walk to find the perfect spot to spend the day. Before heading home, we stop off for fish and chips or pizza from the wigwam at Erics in Thornham- superb!”
