We have a dedicated Learning Support Department that provides tailored interventions and support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND). Led by a dedicated Head of Learning Support, our team of experienced SEND staff support pupils in class, within small groups or during one-on-one sessions depending on their individual needs. An external Speech and Language Therapist visits the School regularly to provide one to one sessions where appropriate.
All pupils with SEND have a Pupil Passport; this is a working document detailing targets, progress and any other relevant information that is updated regularly by teaching and support staff. Pupils with SEND are monitored closely by the department; small and larger group interventions and one to one sessions are delivered to support the progress of all pupils in our care, whatever their individual requirements and including any pupil with an EHC plan. Pupils for whom English is an additional language are fully immersed in all aspects of school life; if required, some pupils will receive English language enrichment support through the Learning Support department.
We believe that pupils who feel relaxed, secure and understood are more able to achieve their potential and to that end we have a dedicated School Counsellor who offers counselling and a range of other interventions for emotional, social and wellbeing support.
