Year One take a trip back in time at Gressenhall Workhouse and Farm
A trip to Gressenhall Workhouse and Farm on Monday gave Year One children an interactive experience exploring our county’s rural history. Kick-starting a fascinating half term topic entitled ‘Long, Long Ago’, the children discovered what it was like to live in Norfolk in the Edwardian era. They participated in a range of hands-on tasks, guided by costumed characters played by museum staff! Cleaning the home, preparing food for a visitor and scrubbing and mangling the clothes, the children were engrossed in the activities and the atmospheric setting. They also found some time for a visit to the adventure playground; an essential part of any school trip!
