Artist Claire Coles hosts Art workshop with Year 5

Year 5 were delighted to welcome artist Claire Coles into School to help them create a unique koi fish collage using Claire’s own outline of a koi and paper they had created earlier using marbling, wax resist, oil pastel resist, batik, gelli plate printing & press printing. Ahead of her visit, they had researched her work and artistic techniques, creating a scrap book entry with their findings. Claire spent time with each Year 5 class, advising on colour, texture and layering. The fish will eventually ‘swim’ all together in a stunning mural.
